The Church of Agios Ioannis tou Prodromou (St. John the Baptist) was built in the 18th century, on the edge of the “Koniareika” settlement, where tradition holds there was a spring. Later, the village cemetery was also moved there. When it was burnt down, in the middle of the 18th century, the church of the Prophet Elijah became the parish church of the village. In 1904 the former church was rebuilt, in a larger form, and the pre-existing church became the ossuary the following year. The church of Agios Ioannis functioned as the second church of the village from 1905 to 1927.
